The main architect of the building (an American of Japanese background) liked Arab architecture and used it in designing the WTC. He wanted even more but the financers cut down on it.
What parts of the WTC had Arab-looking elements?
America has Arab architecture in places you might not expect - The Alamo in Texas, certain parts of the south, because Spain was Islamic for seven centuries and Spain ruled over parts of the south.
There's a town called Opa-Locka in Florida which is the biggest center of Arab buildings on the US. I looked it up in Wikipedia and it said it also has one of the highest crime/murder rates in America!
I don't consider the World Trade Center or The Alamo moorish architecture.
There is a building located in Charleston that's called the Hindu building, because of it's facade, although it's just a regular building with a brown stone front with very decorative windows and doors and it's a pretty old building that has been restored. Looks very different from any thing else near by. I know it could never be built today with all the restrictions they have there now. Wish I could supply a photo. Goggle map and look at 141 East Bay St. Charleston, S.C.
