Not being guided strictly by the calendar, but talking in social terms, what is the line that divides the decade of the 2000's from the decade of the 2010's?
In my opinion, the dividing line is September to November 2008, with the Lehman Brothers bank going bankrupt and sparking a great financial crash, and Barack Obama being elected President of the United States.
In terms of Social History, the decade of the 2000's ends and the decade of the 2010's starts on those months.
If someone lived in Chicago from October 2000 and then moved to New York in April 2009, they may say that the 00s ended in March 2009 and the 10s began in April 2009.
If someone's favorite burger restaurant operated from January 2001 and closed in September 2010, they may say that the 00s ended in September 2010 and the 10s began in October 2010.
We aren't going to have a string of these type of "is 2010 like 1990" threads again are we?
I thought the mods were going to delete this crap.
Yes, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
