Please! I lived through the Vietnam War. Don't lecture me about it. I followed it daily from the Gulf of Tonkin incident until I was a year from being drafted when the U.S. involvement ended.

The U.S. also has a much larger population than it did 50 years ago. We weren't worried about North Vietnam spreading communism; We were worried about the Soviet Union and Red China spreading it. Did you ever hear of the Domino Theory?

You lived through the Vietnam War? How terrible. I was actually there as an enlisted man in the Marine Corps.

If you saw combat, your should be proud of your service. I was assuming you were younger. My uncle was eight years older than me, and heard you collected $55/month extra for jump pay, so he volunteered for jump school and ended up in the 101st Airborne. Had his platoon almost wiped out and never really recovered. Ended up on Veterans' Disability Compensation until he died a few years ago.

Yes I am proud of my service. My opinions as to why we were in Vietnam have evolved. Anyways keep on posting. Cheers.
