Actually, I heard he was an British Officer, but not of European descent. I believe I was told he was of Arab descent. I didn't look into it.

John Adams. Definitely one of the smartest white people in American history. I wonder what his I.Q would have been? Not the fake estimated ones.

Bob Marley's father was a white Englishman whose family hailed from Essex, England. In fact, Bob Marley suffered a lot of racism and taunting from his black peers for being a 'half-breed' which he apparently brushed off by claiming,

"I don't have prejudice against meself. My father was a white and my mother was black. Them call me half-caste or whatever. Me don't dip on nobody's side. Me don't dip on the black man's side nor the white man's side. Me dip on God's side, the one who create me and cause me to come from black and white." ^ Webley, Bishop Derek (May 10, 2008). "One world, one love, one Bob Marley". Birmingham Post. Trinity Mirror. http://www.birminghampost.net/commen...5233-20891539/. Retrieved June 15, 2008.

However, he clearly identified himself as a black man in his music indicating that he subscribed to the racist 'One Drop Rule' whether by choice or not.

Anna Ella Carroll was one of the Baltimore Carroll's. Her father served as Governor of Maryland while she was growing up, and she became deeply involved in Maryland and national politics. While she wasn't impressed with Lincoln prior to his election as President, she celebrated his win by freeing all her slaves. She was adamantly opposed to secession, and worked tirelessly to keep Maryland from joining the South. Lincoln was quite impressed by her, consulting her to the extent that in the painting of Lincoln's cabinet there is an empty chair holding a mapbook and papers, items that Carroll constantly had at hand, and it is thought that the empty seat signifies Carroll and her contributions. She also used her connections to the South Carolina Carrolls (at the time of the Civil War the Carroll's were a political dynasty) to spy on the Confederacy. Lincoln entrusted her with traveling West to St Louis where her observations and recommendations were key in turning the Civil War to a Northern victory. She used her personal fortune for the Union cause, and had assurances from Lincoln that she would be reimbursed, but Lincoln's death left her hanging. While she applied to Congress for recompense, she never received it, even after the Women's Suffrage movement heard of her plight and tried to assist her.
I think Lincoln has to be my favorite of all times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
