I call Christianity the greatest lie because of its effect on history. Without the Christian story, mankind may have been much further along in discovering the true nature of our lives and the nature of the omnipotent intelligence that oversees nature itself.

Perhaps I should have used the phrase "organized religion", since Christianity is not alone in its zeal for self promotion and disdain for meaningful debate. It seems to me MOST religions are like that.

Can anyone imagine world where the history of religious struggle never existed?
Imagine.
Generally I agree with you but it is not all the Christian's fault. There are radicals in their ranks just like radical muslims, the spoiled apple in the barrell so to speak.

The lawyer and former detective who defended big-time drug dealer Frank Lucas, believes the war on drugs will not end due to the many jobs connected to it.

Some prisons are run by private companies. A conflict of interest and unethical, IMO.

SDI was mostly, if not all, a bluff.

Wow. You've got an agenda, don't you? I'm not falling for it.

Breast beating liberals have been resorting to this nonsense since the realities of WW2 started to fade into history. College curriculums that don't include history leave us vulnerable to revisionists.

Before I start counting, lets remember that Japan had invaded China in the thirties committing wholesale murder and enslavement of the Chinese people. After the A bombs fell, the Japanese army was not yet inclined to surrender. The Emperor of Japan forced the surrender.

The immediate death toll of the two bombings was roughly 100,000. An additional 200,000 to 300,000 died as a result of injuries and radiation poisoning.

The American plan for the invasion of Japan was that Kyushu would be invaded, occupied, and used as a tremendous airbase. The plan was to bomb the remaining islands into submission. Expected Japanese casualties were five to ten million Japanese deaths. Estimates were made that invasion would have cost hundreds of thousands of American lives and more than a million American casualties.

The A bombing of Japan saved the lives of millions of Japanese, and many thousands of Americans. Truman did what was necessary to end the War. The premise that the A bombs were a show of force to the Russians was and is absurd.

What about central banks creating money out of thin air? Without this fiction all of the wars in the 20th century would be over in weeks as combatants run out of money.

Before the bombs were dropped Eisenhower, Nimitz and MacArthur all expressed opinion that the bombs were not necessary to end the war.

Please site your sources. One website: Hiroshima: Quotes quotes McArthur on page 512 of American Caesar. The real quote on page 512 warns of the lesson of Hiroshima, nothing more.

Fortunately paper copies are not subject to revision. This calls the remainder of the quotes on that web site into question.
