Every one who likes to explore history should watch this movie. Its a fiction based on true events that happened roughly 700 years ago. But Ironically things that happened back then are happening now too by same people - Sex slaves, no rules of engagement & barbarism by one group and oppression of women & superstitions & fake pride by other group.

I've never been able to take Bollywood cinema seriously. I watched what I thought was a historical drama about the Pakistani-Indian war and thought "oh interesting, a serious historical drama about a little known conflict in the west"...it was OK until they broke out into singing during the firefight! Tell me this is not a typical Bollywood musical drama.
Maybe I will give this one a try if and when it gets to Netflix.

Oh, and I hate when a historical piece tries to equate itself with modern events (although I don't know where you are going with "sex slaves" and "no rules of engagement"). If a director or screen writer's intention is to go there, it tells me #1 that it's an ahistorical and biased work of fiction.

Lol the dancing happens. But this is a serious movie without those typical Bollywood dramas. I mean , even in 2017 we have some fighters taking women as prisoners and not following rules of engagement.

I don't think watching fiction should ever be regarding as exploring history, even if it is 'based on true events'. Understand, I am not one of those people who pitches a fit when a historical drama takes liberties with what happened. That's inevitable. Dialogue is invented. Drama is invented or changed for the sake of drama. That's what drama is supposed to do. It is not supposed to teach us history. It is supposed to entertain. I simply don't think we should make the mistake of learning from it. That's what documentaries are for - or, better yet, a history book, for history is more efficiently and in greater detailed illuminated by words than it is by sight and sound.

Differs with different people. Victors write history and only write what they want people to know. So when you are on the receiving end of history, its different .
Untill I saw this movie, I didn't even know that the protagonist existed in history . However I have read about the Antagonist of the movie and knew his predecessor & succeeding Mughals dynasty.

If it stars Beni Lava, probably the coolest dude in recorded film history (see how he does the jacket flip up at :30), then I am there!

Right. Serious movie made by Bollywood. With singing and dancing. Right.
They DON"T KNOW how to make serious movies. I grew on Indian movies. And it only gets worse worse. The only thing that got better is they have CGIs now and tons of money for large sets of decorations and more crowds to hire.

Also, NO ONE knows what exactly happened 700 years ago. Any movies "based on true story" is nothing more than screenwriter interpretation of a STORY already full of imagination.
