Name the location of the 'Easter Lily Capital of the World.' Ninety percent of the lilies in the US are grown there. One of the most magnificent forests in the US is nearby.

It's borderline, but some of it does spill over into the northwest, although in a relatively confined area. Hint: An infamous prison is nearby on Pelican Island.

Smith River CA. Easter Lily Research foundation
I thought of Oregon first, as Jackson & Perkins grows their roses there. Actually, J&P started out in Newark New York (not too far from me !) But that was a very long time ago

Correct!

A climatic phenomenon draws warm air from the interior California valleys and produces an effect called the "banana belt." Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park is nearby, and it is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. If you like awesome trees, this is your place. Nearby Crescent City was hit by a tsunami in 1964, resulting from the Alaskan earthquake. Several people lost their lives when they failed to heed the warnings. BTW, Jackson & Perkins is in Medford, Oregon, as is Harry & David's mail-order firm.

This is a small, Imperial Free City in Southern Germany. It was founded by a Frankish Knight in 800.
It has been visited through the ages by Kings and Emperors. Maximillan visited in 1497 and that day is still celebrated every year with a festival.
There is a small airfield where the first flights for the Berlin Airlift took off from.
