You got it. If Amarillo were 45 miles north, where Dumas, TX is, it would also be closer to Cheyenne WY, Topeka KS and Lincoln NE

Your turn..........

I know that the road outside of Denver to the summit of Mt. Evans is the highest paved road in the US, goes over 14,000 feet -- even though I don't know the name. How about Mt. Evans Parkway or something like that?

Would have to do some research to know the Canada road, so anyone who gets that can consider themselves the winner of this one.

Feel like a cheat cause I had to go to Google cause I'm at work. If i'm home and search on an atlas till I find it, that is research!

Anyway, Highwoods Pass in Alberta is the highest road in Canada, even though it is only 7239 feet.

Got a new one, two parter:

1) What 3 states are officially not called states?

2) What two NCAA Div 1 schools do not have the word University in their title? (might need to narrow down to Div 1A or BCS football schools, not sure of all the myriad of Div 1 basketball schools).

I know this is technically a sports trivia question, but the big schools are for the most part named after states or cities, thus geography related. Hope I'm not straying too far...
