It is one of the oldest established cities in it's state.
It could be considered the birthplace of Mark Twain, as it was here in 1863 that writer Samuel Clemens, then a reporter on the local Territorial Enterprise newspaper, first used his famous pen name.
It had the first elevator between California and Chicago.
It is but a shadow of its former glory, however, it still draws over 2 million visitors per year. It is one of the nation's larger National Historic Landmarks and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It host one of the more unusual races in America..
Even though that wasn't a fair guess, I'll post a question and keep this going.
Limiting this to the lower 48. Name 4 states that only have one interstate highway inside their respective borders. I am limiting this to the one and two digit main interstates, not 3 digit spurs or bypasses.
Well Maine and Rhode Island for sure and I'll guess Delaware. I had to google the 4th and I'm still not sure.
You have the three that only have I-95 in their borders.
I might have the fourth one wrong. It is a much larger state. I only did this by looking at my Rand McNally and a second intestate does terminate right at the border and actually might go a half a mile or so into this state.
