Tanners would collect urine from poor people.
All they needed was a pot to p-iss in.
The really really poor? "they didn't even have a pot to p-iss in"

Not necessarily the history of pee, but the history of what pee goes into, at least in South Korea, may be found in Mr. Toilet House. If you're ever in Suwon (about 20 miles south of Seoul), it's worth checking out . . . especially if you have young children for whom potty humor is the highest form of comedy.

And no one should go through life without knowing at least five good uses for recycling your urine:

5 great uses for pee (thank you, Smithsonian) | Fox News

I used to gross my kids out by telling them they were drinking recycled dinosaur pee.

Ha! If that’s true, that’s really interesting! I didn’t know that.

I didn't know about the Harris tweed application but UI remember reading a long time ago that the Inuits used to use hallucinogenic mushrooms and then drinking the urine. I was going to post that odd fact and, in doing a quick research saw that it has been debunked. However there were many references to modern day people continuing the practice so I'm unsure about it.

Interesting history of P - the current events "woman detained for throwing her poop at Hortons" brought me here, however, I prefer the history of O.
