Among the still living figures from the Watergate scandal, Gordon Liddy is still with us at 88. James W. McCord Jr. is 94, John Dean is 80, Donald Segretti is 77, Bob Woodward is 75 and Carl Bernstein is 74.

I believe pretty much all the other major figures have passed away.

They are dead now. However, in 2001, I met two surviving members of the crew of the Enola Gay that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. I shook hands with Van Kirk and Nelson and exchanged a few words.

I have been fortunate enough to meet all sorts of war veterans including a couple of World War I vets when I was young. I have met Holocaust survivors and former German POWs.

My father worked on the Bobby Kennedy campaign for President in 1968 and I actually have a personal autograph from him.
