Default Olmec Civilization

Some scientists say the Olmec civilzation was of African decent. But history tells us that Africans didn't arrive in Latin America until the Spanish brought them over. They were seen as Gods by the other indians. The stone figures that were found (I think 17 were found), all depict Negroid features. We know there were different groups of Natives who made their way down to Latin America, but why was this the only African group? We are also confronted by the theory they came on boats across the Atlantic. What are your two-cents on this issue?

Unless he posts some sources, I will not believe anything he says.

They weren't African. There are lots of Mesoamericans with similar features even today.

History tells us all sorts of things that aren't correct. Sometimes that's due to a lack of information or to the fact that the winners get to influence how history books are written. I believe it's well established that mankind made its way over from Asia. But, that doesn't preclude entry points from Europe and Africa. Those who refuse to even consider that people could have come from those continents are simply close minded.
