My father was fiscally irresponsible and my mother divorced him because of it. She was a nurse and he was a school teacher.

I was named for the hospital in which my uncle's life was saved, though some biographers have said I was born in that hospital. I graduated from one of the Seven Sisters Colleges. I became a writer, actor and Pulitzer Prize winner.

I have a connection to the Sacco-Vanzetti case and was thrown in jail because of it.

I had many affairs and my husband condoned them for the most part.

My body of work is widely respected but one particular piece was called acerbic, bitter and flippant. Oddly enough, it is the most quoted of all my work. Most people who knew me considered me to be quite charming.

I died alone in my home.

Who am I?

I was born in the first 1/2 of the 19th century and came with the mormons to Utah, where I became a lawman. I never cut my hair or beard and was infamous in the territory for my ruthlessness and gunslinging abilities. I was also accused of trying to assassinate the governer of Missouri. Who am I?

I am fairly certain I know who it is but can I win without starting a new "Who am I?" I'm not very good in coming up with stumpers.

Orrin Porter Rockwell.

I was born to immigrant parents. I became a high school boxing champ in order to defend myself on the mean streets of my neighborhood.

I graduated from West Point, completed my military service and became a successful attorney.

I joined the military again in 1940 because I knew war was coming. I developed innovative tactics for jungle fighting and I volunteered to parachute into Normandy. Many West Point grads considered me to be a military genius.

I helped draw up the surrender terms of Italy and Germany and then became became part of the occupation government in Berlin.

I wrote military manuals that are still in use today.

Upon my death the leader of a country said the following about me:

"He was the best man we had."

Who am I?
