Too bad you will miss it because I found it very entertaning. They brought out
the barbarism of the era quite well. Its interesting how England moved from
drawing & quartering in the 12th Century (ie., William Wallace's execution) to
the new favs of burning and beheading. (ie., Anne Boelyn etc.) Of course, the beheadings were done the old fashioned way with axes and swords. Where is a good
guillotene when you need it ?
Wonder how those executions would square with our "Cruel & Unusual" punishment
clauses of today.

Yes, and his mother Eleanor of Aquitane was a facinating person in her own right.

Nah, Richard I was The Lionhearted, Richard III was quite some time later.

Richard the Lionhearted was killed in combat too. Richard II was murdered.

I realize that as a young man, Henry VIII was slender, but when I saw that he was being played by the very slight, short Jonathan Rhys Meyers, I was a bit let-down.
I've read that characters have been left out/and/or turned into composites, but I can't remember which ones. Is Henry's sister Mary left in?
As I understand it, the Tudors originated with Owen Tudor, of Wales, and ended with Elizabeth I.

Richard the Lionhearted belongs to another time, long before the Tudors.

Did it talk about Henry VIII beheading Sir/Saint Thomas More for not letting him divorce Katherine of Aragon? Did it talk about Katherine's letter to Henry refusing to give him a divorce at the same time Elizabeth I was born? Did it tell about Elizabeth I beheading Mary Queen of Scots with a dull blade taking 3 strikes to take off her head? Elizabeth was obviously jealous of and knowing Mary Stewart was the rightful heir to both Kingdoms. I also wonder about Mary's abdication to her son, and the circumstances reguarding David Rizzo's murder and wonder if maybe Rizzo didnt father James I/ VI??? Oh what a tangled arrachnid nest we weave!
