These statements are untrue. Greeks are not of Latin descent.
Greek culture prevailed way before any roman/latin culture and peoples.
Look above posts for studies that directly correlate modern Greeks to the ancients.
The % of the ethnic groups you mentioned within Greece is extremely small. You need to provide a source of quotes if you're to quote somebody......
Let's beware that there's lots of propaganda against Greece to this present day due to geopolitics and the Former Yugoslavic Republic of Yugoslavia (FYROM) dispute.

If anything the oldest culture in the Balkans and Europe, the Greeks, have spread their seeds to not only the conquered regions of the Mediterranean and Mid-East, but also those areas peacefully hellenized. For example, blond eyed Afgans in some remote parts of that country, directly trace themselves to the soldiers of Alexander the Great in his quest of spreading hellenism (greek culture).

here is a great study on greek DNA!

Greek autosomal DNA

"Not only is the Greek genetic legacy clearly detectible today, but it is detectible among not only the Greeks, but all their neighboring populations of partial Greek ancestry"

WildWestDude:

Well, [the opinion is] both yes and no. You're referring to ancient greek genetics while recent claims are that modern Greeks have nothing left of ancient greek genetics but have been watered out with latin (roman) and turk genetics. Also, someone mentioned the Greeks are 'caucatian'. but if you look up references for caucatians, the greeks are not even mentioned.

Its really an endless topic because the opinions differ so much. There are a lot of conflicting views about the origins of the present day Greeks, mainly because the Greeke refuse to admit any connection to any other group except their own... they insist on 'pure' Greek genes. Common claims insist the Greeks are mixed with latins and turks, for example.

In any case, as a European, I am accustomed to be taught and view the Greeks as latins - not as caucasians.

In a similar contradiction to the american view: as a European it's common knowledge amongst us that Christopher Columbus was Spanish, not Italian. In the U.S. Columbus is always celebrated as an Italian, while our historical facts state he never even spoke Italian and was basically an immigrant to Italy (Genoa) from Spain during political turmoils in his own country.

So, just two different viewpoints from different cultures.

So, just two different viewpoints from different cultures.
Caucasians are originally from the Caucasus region, between the Black and Caspian Seas. So Greeks are closer to that than anything else. Its the northern and western europeans that are just or more watered down than the Greeks. Furthermore, the Fins and Hungarians are not originally even of the caucasian group.
Remember, Greeks existed way before the Latins. Greek colonies existed in the Med. Sea before there was even a Rome! So, its the Latins that have more greek blood than anything else. The greeks are by no way latins. To say that latins are not even caucasian is ridiculous. Just because they are a bit darker means nothing. To think that caucasians are only light complected and blue eyed is a superiority complex of northern europeans.
Greeks are by far more caucasian than anything else, with some different mixes added due to the Ottoman rule. Likewise, the sacking of the Huns in central and western europe have left an asian imprint on many europeans.
So to conclude, all of us are watered down but the difference is with whom.
The detailed study, which you did not mention, that I posted above on greek DNA, undeniably proves the existence and correlation with modern and ancient greeks. As mentioned many greek cities like Syracuse and Athens had huge populations. They did not all just disappear, the mother space ship did not just come down and picked them all up!

Just to give an idea of the diverse types of makeup in europe here is some info on the Hun invasion of europe:

"The greatest effect of the Hunnish invasion of Europe was however the extinction of the source of the Indo-European tribes from their ancestral homeland between the Black and Caspian Seas. Never again would this territory produce another Indo-European Nordic tribe - the fountain of new Nordic tribes was forever extinguished, one of the most significant acts of racial genocide ever seen."
