Have a nice day!
I believe they were hanged, not burned. Ironic that people with magical powers could be killed by conventional means i.e. no stake through the heart.

I think they were all Puritans?

Nineteen were hung, one was crushed, and at least four died in prison (as many as thirteen more may have died in prison- sources vary as to the actual number.) From the reading I have done the majority of executions in the New World were by hanging, with dying in prison coming in second. Puritans and Quakers seem to be the religions most often involved either as accusers or the accused.

I remember hearing about this theory maybe 10, 15 years ago. More or less, the grain became moldy due to the high level of rain they had that year and they were not able to dry it out before storing it. As such, (and I am not 100% sure of the science behind this), the mold contained the main ingredient for LSD. So, in other words, the girls could have been on a strange, long trip

My English 3 teacher from high school said that there were scientific proof that the grains were infected, causing them to trip out like that.

There are plenty of historians and sociologists who believe that the witch trial phenomenon was an exercise in "socially acceptable" appropriate of the property of the victims by jealous or otherwise unscrupulous locals.

If you're going to quote C.S. Lewis (The Screwtape Letters), please give him credit.
