This man had the benefit of hindsight that the others didn't have (more historical knowledge to draw from), yet he still managed to distinguish himself as the most inept and ineffective man to reside in that office in the history of this country. Even scarier is the fact that there were 61 million who supported him in the last election, ignoring his obvious faults, lies, and ineffectiveness.

I have no idea where history will judge President Bush as it will take a few years for him to be out of office to see how current things play out.
People from 1950 gave President Truman lower approval marks than Bush and Truman couldn't even get his party's nomination in 1952 for re-election. Yet some polls now (50+ years later) rank him quite well. Some rank him in the top ten.
I do not think 50 years from now President Bush will be in the top ten, but he may not be ranked as low as we now feel.
Time, and what happens in the future, will play into how President Bush is ranked.

Is this an easy way for a Magazine with dropping revenues to sell a few more to people already convinced that this is a fact?

Whatever this administration is doing, its killing Ohio's economy like ive never seen before.
|
To think Bush is killing Ohio economy is nonsense. Sure Bush hasn't been the greatest president, but to think he is single handedly responsible for Ohio downfall is just crazy.
How about blaming Ohio for their downfall? There was the whole money scandle with governor Taft. Now the Ohio senate deem the biggest issue in Ohio is how much space there must be between a stripper and a customer. How about the smoking ban? Bush had nothing to do with that. That was the citizens of Ohio shooting themselves in the foot.
As for the article, all any one has to do to make money is write an article criticizing Bush.

No, I don't believe he's one of the worst. He's not perfect but I think he's done a fine job considering all he's had to deal with. Jimmy Carter gets that title of worst from my point of view.

I actually voted for him when I turned 18. If I only knew then what I know now, my vote surely would have been different. Carter in my opinion is one of the best "former presidents" this country has seen. However, he did stink up the joint while in office.
Clinton's administration didn't hurt the country other than making a mockery of moral issues and ineptness in confronting our enemies.
Bush was barely into his term when he had to deal with something that no other president had to do before him (respond to a massive attack on our soil against innocent civilians and then having to respond to an invisible enemy). I give the guy credit for this and his efforts do keep him off the bottom of my list.

LBJ, without question, should be in the list.
1) Vietnam. The bogus Gulf of Tonkin incident resulted in a interminable war in Vietnam that the United States had neither the commitment to win or to not fight at all. The result? 58,000 American deaths and a standing commitment of 750,000 soldiers--A far deeper involvement than the United States now faces in either Iraq or Afghanistan.
2) The Great Society. In addition to violating the classic economic principle of choosing between guns or butter, The Great Society had a terrible affect on the country's economic growth, saddled the taxpayer with open-ended entitlement programs that are simply not sustainable. It took 30 years to reform welfare into a legitimate safety net for those who lost their jobs, rather than act as an open-ended dole for those who simply close to work the system.
3) Johnson's Federal Judgeships wreaked enormous, long-lasting harm in its decision making. Anybody remember forced busing of school children to achieve racial balance? While pursuing the laudable goal of addressing past wrongs, it actually created white flight, resulting in today's nightmarish, sprawling cities.
That being said, he did push through the Voting Rights Act. That deserves mention.

"Do any of you have specifics as to what has caused Bush to be considered one of the worst, in your eyes, other than Iraq?"
I think him being a very poor speaker makes him bad.
