That's our fellow. Tenkswatawa was something of a born again figure, a life of alcoholic abuse replaced by a religious conversion which he claimed came to him in a stupor dream. The religion was very much "white man bad" in all aspects and to try and counter the fervor it stirred up among the old NW tribes, territorial governor Wiliiam Henry Harrison challenged the radical spiritual leaders to produce some supernatural sign that their movement had validity. He did not count on their cleverness.
Probably Tecumseh, who traveled extensively and had a great deal of contact with the white world, was the one who learned that there would be a total eclispe of the sun in their region on June 16th, 1806. However they found out, Tenkswatawa decided to "predict" that the Great Spirit would cover up the sun with his hands at Tenkswatawa's demand, 50 days from then. By happy coincidence, 50 days later was June 16th. At the right time Tenkswatawa went out and made all the proper manual gesticulations and encantations...and presto....just as he said.
Naturally this impressed the hell out of those who saw it and it went far in widening the intertribal support that Tecumseh enjoyed by seeming to validate the religion.

Ding Ding Ding!!! correct!
Here is a bit of a difficult(maybe) history question. If this "area" was to become a country it would be the world's most sparsely populated country. The area in question was formed within the last 12 years. What is the name of this place? and who was "technically" the first person to discover this place?

Is the area Nunavut (split off from the Northwest Territories)? And just at this moment I can't recall the first expedition to the area--in the 1570s, I believe. It wasn't the Davis expedition, was it?

yes the area is Nunavut it split from Northwest Territories on 4/1/97. As far as I know the first person to discover what is Nunavut today is Henry Hudson.
