One interesting development is the flak jacket, which, like baseball umpires chest protectors, has moved from outside to inside. Here are two photos that show the change:

The black uniform and deaths head go back to the 1700s, I think, to a cavalry ("hussar") uniform from either Prussia or Brunswick (one of those petty states)

I think many of the German Nazi uniforms were extremely sharp-looking. Of course I don't agree with the government policies they had, but they did have a good eye for design in general.
Hugo Boss was the tailor for the uniforms, or helped design them (probably the cut, not the insignia). the house of Boss became famous in our time for their mens suits.

But yeah, I do like German uniforms. The 19th century uniforms of the German petty states (pre 1871) were pretty sharp, too.

I agree about the german uniforms. I hate the policies, but the order and design of the uniforms is very sharp. The british and American unfiroms in WW2 just plain sucked.

Agreed about the German uniforms ... they have always been sharp from the time of Prussia and Fredrick the Great right up to the present day German Bundeswehr dress uniforms (which are very similar to the WWII uniforms minus the stalhelm helmet).

+1 on the German WW2 uniforms.
Very sharp.

Although as a man, this does look impressive:

She would look better had she shot expert. Now, if she was expert in rifle, bayonet and grenade, I would be suitably impressed with her look.

Sure lousy at working with others, though. What a bitterly ambitious man. I grant that he was repeatedly slighted, but so were others and they didn't go to his extreme. I'm surprised Charles Lee didn't go over, considering his hate for Washington.
