Not the oldest, nor have the engines operated in over 60 years, but the flagship of the Texas Navy, the USS Texas, is still quite impressive as the last remaining dreadnought from the WWI era (commissioned in 1912):

Only if you consider being encased in concrete as being afloat. Fortunately Admiral Nimitz had the foresight to allow the Japanese to preserve a significant relic of Japanese naval history.

Theres always the Texas but as far as oldest actually fit for combat would have to be the Iowa now before people start saying its a museum ship if you actually read Congress has an act stating that there must always be 2 Iowa class battleships ready for fast deployment and the Iowa is the the oldest of the two

Peruvian navy still has a WW2era cruiser http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BAP_Almirante_Grau_(CLM-81)
