Default Through out History

The English, later the British considered themselves to be the Elite.

Victorian times was an era when this was a high, some today still think we are the Elite of the elite. even in the states the WASP still consider themselves to be the Elite.

When Sir Edmund Hillary (Kiwi) conquered Everest the New Zealand prime minister at the time said.... [putting] the British race and New Zealand on top of the world".

New Zealand European - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Even in Australia when the outbreak of World War 1. The call to arms, The Aussies came in huge numbers (cannot find the link) and replied Are we not the Britons of the south..

Hitler did not want war with Britain, he though of Britain and Germany as coming from the same family tree and both the master race.

Any input

You know it's not really politically right to say it, but I think some races in the world have the tendencies to actually dominate the rest. It's just genetics.

In regard to New Zealand, it seems that they have taken an independent tack in their foreign policy. As part of the Anzac forces, they paid their dues in heavy losses at Gallipoli in WWI and the Mediterranean theater in WWII. For them, the days of quickly and dutifully answering the call to arms are probably over. They were particularly incensed over France's nuclear testing in the South Pacific a few decades ago, and have barred a port of call to all nuclear-powered vessels. In my opinion, they are a good exemplar for a more peaceful world.

-------

All Humans have a tendency to dominate other Humans since they ceased to be hunter-gatherers and became agricultural empires based on water resources.

Maybe I'm being naive. But I thought this was all common knowledge? From the Boer Wars through to the last part of WW2, Australia and New Zealand basically went wherever England did and in some cases, we became the British Empire's most important units.

Kangaroofarmer,

It's good to see you back on the history board! I hope your area has had some relief from the prolonged drought.

Trotter you are a bad man

I have to say I actually think the Brits and Germans are very much alike. This is one Island Monkey that thinks Brit/German rivalry is because we are so alike.

From my personal experience we dress as badly, eat as badly, drink as much and behave as badly on holiday in foreign countries (and both nationalities believe we are better than the foreigners we reward with our presence).

Of course, Brit music is better
