After 54 years, the story of Emmett Till is still making news. Till was just 14 years old when he was brutally beaten, shot in the head, and dumped in Mississippi's Tallahatchie River for allegedly whistling at a White woman. His mother, Mamie Till Mobley, insisted that his disfigured body be fully viewed at his funeral.
