Are the IRISH (specifically catholic) the most looked down upon "white group"? What are some others? Put in context of fairly recent history as Im aware at one time or another every group has been persecuted.

Not sure what you're looking for here but as another poster said, the Romi people in addition to Jewish people as well as many others
The Romani and the Jews carry the distinction of probably being the most persecuted "white" people of all time.
In addition to the Irish many other groups were seen as inferior including Italians and Slavs. Of those two the Slavs have probably had the hardest go at being considered "white".
In the 19th century the Irish were certainly looked down upon, but things have changed.
Today, in America, the Irish are probably the most well looked upon white sub-ethnicity.
Everybody seems to love the Irish, due in no small part to the fact that the Irish are not afraid to boast about themselves as opposed to more reserved and self-deprecating groups.
I regularly come across people with no Irish ancestry who are fascinated with the country and want to visit based on the stories of their Irish friends and neighbors. I find this especially true of people who are disconnected to their own European roots or hold feelings of guilt regarding their ancestry that have been foisted upon them by the mores of contemporary society.
The Irish today are seen by many as the acceptable white European culture because of their self-promoted status as an oppressed people.
As others have said, the Jews and the Romani's are the most discriminated white groups throughout recent European history (I thought Romani's were Asian, though? Didn't they come from India or something?)
Other groups have faced discrimination, but I wouldn't think as much as the two above. The Irish, Southern Italians, Muslims in the Balkans have all faced (or still face) discrimination. Catholics living in Protestant nations have been picked on real bad for the past several centuries.
Does the anger toward Jews and Catholic Irish have to due with the fact that they even during periods of being oppressed will still state that they are on the right side of god or that they are the chosen people and refuse to change their ways to integrate into their occupiers? I'm not at all saying its a bad thing but more or less an argument that these two groups being hardheaded and prideful has caused backlash.

Perhaps but why should they concede???
