So, I'm trying to save some money by eliminating some of my expensive hobbies. But what are some fun things to do under $10 besides going to the movies?

The only other thing I can think of is renting a bike for like $10/hour and going for a ride or taking a dance class. Any other suggestions? Thx

Fun things to do:

1. Take a walk through a park or nature preserve.

2. Bike - you can get a used bike for thirty bucks around here.

3. Go canoeing.

4. Get videos from the library and watch them.

5. Read a book.

6. Go to community festivals.

7. Invite friends over to play board games or cards.

8. Listen to live music at a bar and buy a couple of drinks.

9. Go swimming.

10. Grow vegetables or flowers.

11. Go to happy hour.

12. Dance.

Hit some golf balls at the driving range, or fast balls the batting cage. Most thrift stores will have bats and golf clubs.

Did I miss something? I thought walking, biking, canoeing, swimming, and dancing were active.

Anyway, I would add:
Go to a community center and play pool or ping pong.
Go bowling.
Join a volleyball team.
Play frisbee in the park.
Play whiffle ball or paddle ball.
Community tennis courts.
Play badminton.

There are a lot of fun things to do for under $10.00. It just depends what you like. Check your local paper for local activities and groups.

Active activities for less than $10:

1. Go swimming at the public pool (less than $3).

2. Go watch a movie at the theater/cinema.

3. Go out dancing at the local dive/pub (that's free).

4. Go jogging/running (it's free. Just slip on your jogging/running shoes and you're off).

5. Go for a long walk (same thing as above).

6. Flea-markets/yard sales (most things there are less than $10. Even less than $2, in most items!).

your mom? sorry, it was too easy.

Renting a bike isn't that cheap here. But you can buy one at a yard sale and have one to ride all the time.

Check out a movie, bring your own soda and candy..

Hit the beach, couple bucks for parking?
