I collect Santa Christmas ornaments (unique and vintage santa looking ones)

Coins - which I have given to my 7 year old

Childrens Hardcover books - I'm addicted to the ones with really beautiful covers and artwork throughout

I collect refridgerator magnets for different cities, states, countries, museums, casinos, sports-related events and other destination points I visit.

I figure, if I collect 5 or 6 per year, by the time I'm 80 years old, I should have about 400 of these magnets on my refridgerator.

Then when I'm 80's years old and my grandson and his friends with the droopy-drawers start talkin smack to the old man (that's me), because we ran out of Kool-Aid, I can point to my refridgerator and say....."Hey...don't you talk to me like that, you little punks. I might be old, but I've been around and done some things in my life......dammit."

So if you go some place interesting (like Georgia Acquarium, Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, Walt Disney World, Football Hall of Fame, Basketball Hall of Fame, a concert or show, etc...) pick up a magnet. Last week I went to the Celtics @ Pistons game and picked up a Detroit Pistons 50th Anniversary commemorative magnet.

i collect anything that may end up being worth something when i pass it on to my kids from happy meal toys to thimbles from psot cards and stamps to sports cards.

I also collect refrigerator magnets..There are about 60 or so on my double door refrigerator..I collect the penny magnets with different sayings in them..The pennies are cut in the middle to show what the subject of the saying is. cross=religious, house=family, star=wisdom,heart=love and angel=angel..I have a collection of angels on one door and magnets from places we visit..I keep a roll of magnetic tape in my "junk drawer" to put on the back of things the grandchildren make me from school and their pictures..On my bottom freezer drawer I have a big Univ. of Ky Wildcat

Used to collect comic books but stopped in the 80s...I have many old ones that I bought as a little kid in the early 70s and on..I still have my original Star Wars comic books (#1, #2 and #3) from the late 70s when the movie came out.

Thank you. You made me feel normal. I thought I was the only one who collected TV Guides. Mine do not start as early as yours but I have quite a few.
I also collect salt and pepper shakers and cannot get rid of my books.
My son started a collection of pins when he was in Scouts and has many now.
My mom is the cat collector. At one time she had 21. Most were indoors. She keeps them until a good home is found.

I forgot- lol, I also collect fridgerator magnets. I have about 200. Some from various states, quite a few Israeli/hebrew magnets,Mom magnets. All kinds! I have all of them on my fridge( both the doors and the sides) which I use for pictures. I probably have 50 pictures of all different sizes on my fridge of my guy and I, the kiddos, the family,etc. Maybe I collect pictures too but am too lazy/cheap to buy frames so I do magnets instead lol.
I also collect Precious Moments stuff. I've been collecting it since was young so now it's in my daughter's room. Plates,Ornaments,Dolls, stuff like that.
I think I just really like collecting stuff!

I managed to find a Cubs hat I wanted for 40% off...they had my size so I had to scoop it up.

A co-worker just told me her mom collects quarters. Rolled up in a drawer, with at least $5000 worth.
This was brought up because I mentioned the lady who collected 55,000 pennies over 20 years.

Fun read! I collect rocks. I've collected them for a long time now and have everything from a huge smoky quartz geode to a core sample from a local well site.
