I somehow change and get interested in old objects. I love old WWI and 11 blanket pins. They used them to make their blankets into sort of sleeping bags.
I love old door knobs. I have two big baskets of them. It seem like anything you get into there is such varitey. Somehow they are glass, brass, painted, etc.
Then I have collected old sock darners. When people actually used to repair the holes in their socks. Now we just toss them away. Same varitety they are black, blue, clear, plain and fancy. They are a real conversation peice.
When I am up on Lake Erie like I am right now visiting with my 87 year old dad, we all walk the beach and collect beach glass. It is wonderful old colored glass washed ashore and all smooth from the sand and rocks. We have lots of containers with them all around.

My mom collects beach glass too. It has to be perfectly smooth. My husband collects postcard of baseball parks. My dad collects old cameras. I collect beads, I like to buy special beads wherever I go and make myself something to remember the trip.

arguy1973 Anyone else collect odd things?
|
Old radios 35, clocks 25 and cameras 20. All boxed up for years now. Also small cars 20-30, candle holders 25 and other odd decor 50...still all boxed up for years.
Well, those things are not odd but collecting things and then boxing them all up probably is. So, I collect boxes of collectables...that is my hobby.

I collect milk bottle. Just a memory of the 1/2 pint in the school lunchroom got me going. I enjoy finding them at each state I visit.

I almost forgot, my husband and I collect celeb autographs. It's crazy, but we got way more when we lived in Pennsylvania than we do living in California. Probably because we were a fairly short drive from NYC.

I used to collect t-shirts,bumper stickers, and whatever else from radio stations...
Now I sort of like to collect pens & post-it notes with business names on them from across the country, they'd be kind of like business cards except printed on other stuff...(if anybody's got any send em along)
My sister in NC sometimes sends me pens from down there and calls it the 'pen' pal club

I used to write to celebrities and ask for autographed picture.. I had a pretty good success rate too!
