But that's okay, since the chamber is a little oversized to compensate for dirt building up inside the chamber in typical combat situations.
you mean like this?

Got these a little while ago, payback after my casa finally sold.Wasn't planning on the Garands,I already have one,but these were in such fine shape and since prices keep climbing on them I splurged. The M14/M1A is a NM ,earlier serial number which has more G.I parts to it.Haven't tried these 3 yet since I'm new to my area but now I found a sportsman's club that I'll be joining soon.

I have been using wrong targets Hoppes 100yd sight in targets from Wal-mart,I'm ordering SR1 200yd reduced to 100yd and I think my groupings will improve with those.

I really should get into reloading.I also got a Winchester 1886 in 45-70 when I knew I was selling the house.I also really enjoy shooting the Ar-15,really accurate and want to get back into skeet shooting.I also shoot pistol but not competition.

eh...here is a link to a thread of mine.I showed this to my dad and he gave me a ear full saying "what the h*** happened to you? those are sh**** groups,I taught you better than that" lol!

I think the SR1 targets I'm getting will help me tighten up the groups. And,I need to practice more as I just don't go out like I use to but now I'm in a better situation and plan on more range time. Some of these I need to correct the windage and elevation but with some you need to tap the front sight which I haven't done yet on some. That's why I really like micro click adjustable sights for dialing in.

This was my spot before I moved,it was good for up to 300yds and had a backdrop. Now I'll be going to a public range at the sportsman's club around here.

My Milsurp Rifle Showdown - THR

oh and when I went on my road trip stopped by the NRA museum, was a nice day spent with my dad.

Shooting and reloading are two of my many hobbies. The biggest problem I have at the moment is that our local range, an outdoor Forest Service site, has been closed a lot lately, due mostly to fire danger. I find that I only get out there occasionally to shoot, and it's not nearly often enough.

In the meantime, I shoot at home quite a bit, but only with my Airsoft guns. I can shoot these indoors if I choose to. I usually use them in my garage with a pellet trap that I made to keep from making a mess. I have several airsoft guns, both pistols and long guns. I also have several real guns in a variety of types and calibers.

As for reloading, I've only started with it recently and done just a little reloading. I did get to take my reloads to the range on one of the occasions when it was open, and I must say that I didn't have any misfires or squibs, so I guess my reloading instructor (another reloader that I worked with) taught me well.

I am using the Dillon RL 550 B progressive press, and am quite pleased with it. What do you other reloaders use?

I am looking to make my first purchase this week.
I am not very experienced. I want to have one for protection. I am looking at the Taurus .38 Ultralight. Anyone have an opinion on this revolver ?
I have been told, by several, that this would be a good starter for me.

My advice to you would be to take a friend along, find a range that rents guns ( a lot of them do) Rent a couple you think you would like to own and see what one you are most confortable and accurate with. When I bought my first Glock, I was going to buy the model 19 (compact 9mm) As it turned out, I was so much more accurate with the model 21 ( full size 45 ACP). Never regretted my purchase.

What AZ91 said.If you don't know much about using a firearm getting a certified instructor might be good also.Taurus are well made, with a lifetime warrenty.

I started reloading 21 years ago and I saved more than enough money to pay for the reloading equipment that I have now.

I have an RCBS Rock Chucker single stage reloading press, and all of the reloading dies are also RCBS, except the dies for my 9mm Luger, they are Lee. I have a Lyman DPS 1200 II electronic scale, which is really neat because you can program up to 100 loads into it, and it measures each load very accurately. My trimmer is also a Lyman, and I also have a Dillon electronic scale to double check the accuracy of the Lyman electronic scale.

I'm not completely sure of the laws regarding handguns in Britain but they're definately a lot stricter than in the US. As for shotguns or long guns they are legal but again there are very strict laws about who can have a license and who cannot. People don't tend to keep firearms for self-defense as much here in Britain because the legal system here is such a shambles that the person who pulled the trigger to defend themselves could very possibly find themselves being sued.
