Just got back from the range. We (my husband, my mother and I) shot off around 200 rounds of 9mm and about 90 rounds from my husband's SKS. Well my mom actually only shot about 5 rounds from that, before she gave it up lol. She did buy us a year membership at the range, so we can go shooting this summer (if I get my casings reloaded or if the stores in town are able to restock the 9mm ammo)

Sounds like you had fun. You should invest in a reloading set up. Personally I dont like shooting other folks reloads except in their guns.

I just finished up a project today. Not a restoration or anything, but I took an old rusty 1889 Marlin 44/40 I'v been playing with & cleaned it up, restocked & cold blued it. Its a parts gun & the finish of the different parts didn't match well at all. I had the barrel lined when I got it a couple years ago, fit a crooked stock to it & just shot it until now. I'm happy with the results. It still looks old but it dont look like it was in the gutter for 50 years anymore.

Heres the next one. I just took it apart to clean it out & found a case stuck in the chamber.
This one is a 38/40.

You can see the case in there, Imagine it ruined somebodies day. The barrels bulged too about 3/4 of the way out. Wish it could talk.

Thanks. It'll be very close I think to this one. All the ones before I did closer to full restorations only I made them as I like instead of how they came originally. That can get costly though & moneys much tighter than it was even a year ago. Plus I want a few I can take hunting.
I plan on carting that 44/40 around the woods this summer & maybe taking a deer with it this fall if one comes by.
