Saloon girl? I've never heard of that one before. Is that like one of those outfits where her bosoms are almost popping out?
Very sexy! I love dressing up and in fact have an entire closet and drawer full of very sexy costumes, Little Red Riding Hood, Dorothy, Medusa, Mermaid, Alice In Wonderland, etc. costumes. Turns me on a lot. Corsets are also a joy of life.
OMG.
Reminds me of the SCA when I was in college. I only dressed up in ridiculous outfits when it was October 31st, i.e. Halloween.
Though to be fair, I do have a full suit of armor from Valentine Armouries, that would fit me perfectly, but its job is to stand in the front entryway. (And then again, only worn on Halloween).
One thing which has kept me from the SCA despite a lot of other things which interest me is the garb. Not that its worn, that if FUN, but its this need for it all to be properly and perfectly period, even the undergarmets. I may just deal on that as its the only read fandom I can find near and I'm desperately hungry for fandom and filking and MY kind of people.
I have what I call the Nightbird outfit. I wear it as a hall costume. Tall laced fringy black boots. Pirate style pants with silky slit wastband to knees. Flouncy shirt and laced vest or black vest over sleveless black top, depending on temp. And the floor length hand croched black coat with double lines of silver buttons. And a beret style floopy black hat.
The most fun is getting there and going home, stopping at places like Walmart and getting noticed.
Dressing up is way too much fun to just do it on Sanhaim.
At this one convention held over that weekend the winners of the costume competition were Indy Jones and the Karen Allen female lead. They won hands down, but played their charactres too. Then the hotel had a costume contest in the bar with a hundred dollar prize. All the con winners tried again but Indy and girlfriend won again except this one paid for the hotel room. The mundanes just couldn't believe how much work they put into the act and the costumes just for Halloween
Adults have the same permission to go out and play. Its indescribably neat to strut around in my Nightbird gear and so much fun. Adults don't allow themselves to *play* enough.

Elizabethan will do that too. Not to forget the Napolianic style with the high waist which is usually not accurate because it tended to have accidnets.

I think I want to go to your place and play some time.
Makes me think of the Logan's Run and Star Wars 'chases' popular and scheduled at conventions. If you wanted to participate you had to dress the part.
