What do you do with your free time?
I thought it might be interesting to hear what people enjoy to do in their spare time, if you have any. Do you enjoy hunting, fishing, crafts, sport? I like to do an art that is called quilling. It is not very popular but it has been mentioned on WNEP's Pennsylvania's Road. It may not sound interesting to most but it is rolling little strips of paper and making them into different shapes to form a flower, picture, or anything you can think of. I have been doing this for 5 years now and I make mostly decorations on matts for picture frames, wedding invitations, paper cakes, and greeting cards. If interested in seeing pics of this art form, go to Quilling with Quilled Creations and click on the members gallary. I also enjoy doing yard work in the summer months. Let's hear from others.

I've always been curious about quilling but my patience isn't as great these days to try something new! I'm a scrapbooking/stamping nut. Winter months I mostly crochet. Making myself a sweater right now and a few friends are having babies so I'll be busy with blankets. I've been tossing around the idea of an online store with accessories and bathing suits/cover ups. Everytime I make one for someone they say ' ooo I'd pay for this'. Great, another free gift lol!

I do Ebay and Freecycle. I also do online paging for a breaking news paging company. Still looking for the "perfect" work at home job...nothing yet. I'm even willing to do babysitting. My little guy would love to have a playmate while his big sister is at school...

Poconosmama - If you have the patience to sit and crochet, I think you would be able to quill. The only time it gets stressful is if some one orders some thing that you really do not know how to do and have to spend much time figuring it out. I did not have any intentions on selling anything but people bugged me and then some were for sale at a pharmacy in Freeland for a while. I used to sell the frames for $25 and made nothing off of it. That was mainly for the materials. I see people selling similar frames for $100+ and they get it. That would not fly around here. It is a very time consuming, but rewarding, art form. You can cut some 1/8" strips of construction paper to try it and see if you like it first. That is what I did. Now I am working on place setting cards for a wedding (they have hydrangea and daisies on them - these are from punches though). I am also making a 4 tier wedding cake out of paper that will be for the favors. Let me know if you try it.

Do you just use card stock or thinner paper? What do you wind it on? I have some scrapping tools with skinny ends do you have a specific rolling thing? I think once I'd roll the paper I'd have no clue what to do with it! The crocheting is the same thing as far as selling. I can make money off of bathing suits because they are small and quick, but blankets are time consuming and although cheap to make just not worth the time. I think I'm going to try a doggie sweater next lol.

Summertime: Love to fish, go boating, "beach" the boat and relax. Go to a Target Range and shoot some clays and targets.
Anytime: Take photos/video of interesting places we visit. Use our computer/play computer games. Watch TV (Wheel of Fortune, Las Vegas, etc.)

I try to work out as much as possible in my free time. Other than that, I love watching sports (all different kinds), doing charity work, and planning dinners with my friends.

Free time????? We call it fishing time. haha I once heard that if you give a man a fish, he will eat today. If you teach him to fish, he will eat for the rest of his life. I'm trying to do that. Doesn't always work out, but I try. hahaha I fish, I hunt, and then I drink a beer.

I love to read, play video games and board games, and watch movies. I also love to cook and bake, much to the content of my hubby's heart. I recently took up crocheting, which I've always wanted to do. LOL..my sister thought I was an old person because I want to crochet but I had to reiterate that I wasn't old, I was old-fashioned. There is a difference.
