I would like to gift a wonderful friend who has been very good to me lately as I recover from hip surgery. She is an avid and talented scrapbooker; but I know that her funds are limited.

Any suggestions for something you've been wanting and willl get a lot of use out of? Or maybe a gift certificate to Michael's or ?

Thanks.

You might want to check on a small manual die cut machine......like the Cuttlebug or Grand Calibur. you can get them at the chain stores and use a coupon on them. If you get the Cuttlebug at a cheaper price, you might want to consider adding a pack of spare cutting plates as well.

You can get a LOT of different dies to use with them, plus embossing folders which are really nice to add texture without adding bulk. And this would be something nice to add to her collection here and there. There are also some really nice "mat" type dies that she can use a lot in scrapbooking, as well as maybe a few flower or flourish dies as well.

Again, you can use coupons at any of the chain stores for any of these items. Something you could do is have her show you what she is working on and kind of hint around as to something she would like to have. Any tools would be nice as they tend to be pricey, but invaluable to a papercrafter.

How about a great pair of sissors. Some of the better ones run $25 and up but it is a joy to use nice sissors.

Thank you for the suggestions; I know zero about scrapbooking and have decided that, since I don't know what the quality of an item would be, I'd better give her a $50 gift certificate to Michael's and she can just go in on a 50% off day and get what she wants. (I sure could tell you about quilt fabric though, and/or sewing machines).

The gift certificate will be perfect. Even among scrapbookers, there are different styles and different things that they prefer to use, so it would be hard for anyone but your friend to pick what she wanted most.
