I was in Europe with cousins and we went to Corsica. During the summer, the French from the mainland (Corsica IS France) and Italians represent 90+% of the tourism in Corsica. We went to a stunning beach area called Porto Vecchio.
We were sitting next to this family - a younger husband and wife and their 2 kids. She was a slender blonde French woman and he was probably Algerian or from some other Arab North African country...you know, he'd bagged himself a blonde trophy (LOL) as an immigrant kind of thing. Hats off to you, sir! They had a boy and a girl.
Wifey was topless and was volleying a beach ball back and forth with her 8 to 10 year old son. As she did, her breasts, in alternating fashion, jiggled up and down.
What was going through my head? There's NO WAY I would want to see my parents nude on a beach...or anywhere. I DO NOT think the human body is "dirty" at all....I just believe in a base level of modesty.

That is the problem this has in America it is stuck in a 19th and 20th century moral system preventing it from becoming a progressive society
NO one is forced to look at things you do not want see hopefully.
If you have bad thoughts then this scene probably is not for you. Allow those who want to do a general harmless activity enjoy their freedom and liberty

I went to a beach that is public in San Fran. Half nude and half not. I don't know why anyone has a need to be naked in public. With that said, it was really funny seeing the guys playing volleyball. LOL!! To me it is more amusing than anything.

I've never been to a "nudist resort", but I have been to several natural hot springs in the West. Nudity was pretty much the norm, even at a couple places within National Parks. These usually require a little bit of effort to get to them, so you don't really get the gawker thing happening there. At one that was easy to get to (in Big Bend National Park) nudity was pretty much limited to a night time thing, and even then most people would ask everyone if anyone objected. No one ever did.
And I've seen a few comments about the weirdness of seeking out a beach or a group of people to be naked with. I'm not sure if that's what everyone is actually doing -- I mean if someone likes the feeling of being naked outdoors, what are their choices? It's either go somewhere where it's accepted (and where you'll likely encounter other like-minded people whether that's part of what draws you or not) or find somewhere in the middle of nowhere where you'll be unlikely to come across anyone. The latter is getting harder and harder to do, and can take a lot more effort than just loading up the car and heading to a clothing optional beach or resort. I don't think that necessarily makes someone perverted.

Sixteen years ago when I was in my early-mid 30s a male friend (I'm female and he was only a friend) dared me to join him at a nudist club in Virginia for the weekend. Not one to shy away from a dare, I took him up on his dare. That's not to say I wasn't scared to death and feeling exceptionally shy. But I went anyway and I think that I had more fun at that wholesome nudist resort than I had had anytime in my life up to then. It was a warm early June weekend with perfect weather up in the mountains. I know the weather and location helped to make this such a special weekend. After that, my friend and I went every weekend there or to another resort in WV until I left at the end of that summer for graduate school. I decided I liked it so much that I would seek out nude resorts on my own. Through nudism, I met the person who became my husband (actually, my 1st DH.) We belonged to Pine Tree outside of Annapolis Maryland where we had a cabin. We spent every weekend there and had lots of friends. Everything was aboveboard -- no sexual expressions allowed. I would not go someplace that allowed open sexuality because that was not why I was into being nude. It just felt good swimming without a ridiculous bathing suit on and I felt more confident in myself (hard to explain unless you've experienced it yourself.) That DH and I went to a bunch of resorts around the country and met all kinds of wonderful people from teachers to judges to carpenters to ministers to lawyers to CEOs, etc. Unfortunately, that marriage failed and the one thing I really miss is the cabin at the nudist club. My second DH, as wonderful as he is, just doesn't 'get' the nudist thing and so I don't go anymore. I really miss it. He's afraid he'll see somebody there he knows. My response is that if he sees somebody he knows, they'll also be nude so what's the big deal? My reasoning hasn't worked yet, but I'm still trying :-).
By the way, as I mentioned above, nudism draws people from all walks of life and from all ages, though younger women are less numerous. Becoming a nudist in my early 30s was by far the best thing I could have done for my self-esteem, which was exactly the opposite impact I thought it would have. I am not model-thin and I have to admit, it really nice seeing that my imperfections are not abnormal! I think that men who are exposed to nudism have a more realistic idea of what a real woman's body looks like, particularly as a woman gets older. While it would be nice if we all looked like 20 year olds all of our lives, age happens and things start to sag, and with childbirth and surgeries, our bodies can really change. I was happy that my first husband had such a realistic view of a woman's body. Second DH is just as great in that regard, but he just won't get nude (in public that is!)

Excellant post young lady! My family and I lived near a clothing optional beach in California. We went there often when we didnt have time to travel farther. As a result, my children grew uo with no "body image issues" and it was wonderful to meet people from all walks of life. And never in 30 years of going to this beach or other nude/optional places did we see inappropriate activity. Some people with less open minds cant seem to seperate nudity from sex. Their loss though. Right?

I never been to one, but I practice Nudism at home. But I live alone, so doesn't really count. When I wasn't working, I saved alot of laundry doing that.

In my salad days, I didn't mind, I even had (I threw it away, ashamed) a picture of me, blushing, as a teen giggling stupidly surrounded with my clothes (one coudn't even see I was naked) on Sta Monica beach, I thought I was doing something sooooooooo...daring.
Now I must say with the gay way of life having gained ground since then (it was in the seventies), and the nudist beach having a good percentage of gay people, I wouldn't dream of practicing nudism now; maybe if my wife enjoyed it, I would still go for it, but she doesn't (altough sometimes -if there is not too many people-she does naked breasts on the beach).
