Why is an anti-bacterial ointment recommended for 5 - 7 days? I've only used them 3x a day for 3 days and then went to a lotion 3x a day for 2 weeks. No scabbing, infection or scaring.
Because it usually takes 5-7 days for the tattoo to initally heal.. within 3 days it is still peeling and it isn't good to put lotions on it. Lotions does't cause scaring, scabbing or infections..Some lotions can pull the color out. That is just like soaking in water after getting a tattoo done, when your not suppose to for at least 10 days, the soaking can pull the colors out.
Alright... Here are a couple pics of my latest piece. It was started in October & finished last Thursday. Apparently the ribs are more painful than I thought they'd be. The second picture shows how well the new piece is integrated with the Corvette one.
Those are beautiful tats. When they get about 35yrs old, LIKE MINE IS, they tend to smear, smudge, and run together. The small details are not there and there is NOTHING that can be done to cover over that black smudgy mess. Except have a laser scar where you tried to have them removed. NO MORE FOR ME.
Hmmmm love the car and lady it looks good barkingowl...
Heleenieweenie~ Ya know you can go get your tat touched up, there is artist out there today that can and will fix that messy, smeared, smudged tattoo..I understand you not wanting to get more but why not have the one you got fixed. With you living in MI there should be a few artist up there willing to touch up your tat.. or even cover it up to make it look better. Tattoo artist can do unbelievable work these days, they are NOTHING like they use to be!!!..You would be amazed at what some artist can do... You don't someone who is old skool! You look for the shop to be clean, the tattooing area to be clean and sterile, the people to be professional. Also Look at the Portfolio Books.. This is a way for you to see the artwork they have done..coverups and all.
I would at least check that out before you decided to get it lasered off.. Do you have a picture of it so we can all see it..?
My mom has a tat that she got done and it has been there for about 20 some years now and it still has its shape.. its a cat with moon on her shoulder..all it needs is a good touch up with some new color and it would be fine.
All Tattoos are going to get out of wack and fade overtime this is why ya go in and have it touched up. It also depends on how good the artist was as to whether or not it will last..some artist just aren't artist, they are wannabe's with a tattoo gun.
I have a tribal tat on my left hip. It doesn't have any significance, just a cool design. Sorry for the blurry 'mirror pic' quality, but wanted to snap a quick pic before heading out.
