Does anyone make their own? How do you do it. Now I use a prebuilt knife blades and antler pieces. I will soon make my blades and go into more detail about using the antlers with more detailed pieces of metal in them. As I get my grinders, forge and blower ready and a place to use them. I plan on making blades out of cable, skillsaw blades,maybe files.
I buy flat stock from McMaster and Carr. Easier being pre-annealed.
Do all your cutting, filing, drilling, sharpening and polishing before hardening.
I oil harden and then heat in a kiln and oil quinch again.
