The only thing is they don't run many trains there these days. Other than Amtrak running twice trains are rare. Occasionally they run a baretable and sometimes on Tuesday afternoon they run a eastbound Z train. Chances are all you will see is Amtrak.

Good to see plenty of other railfans chiming in; I'm not much of a steam fan, I'm more for the 50's - 80's. The only exception is the old ACL steamers, impressive machines they are.

I'm not a hobbyist but wanted to call your attention to a lovely movie we saw a couple years ago, called "The Station Agent" about a person who is a big fan of trains; it really is a wonderful film, worth renting (or buying, or downloading, whatever!)

Enjoy--

Cumbres and Toltec is on the to do list next time we are in New Mexico. This summer we will ride some trains here in New England.

As a child and teen "the Carolyn Road" ate my childhood. I didn't have time for much but my stepfather's obsession. I still wonder who bought it and if it is still running.

Hi There! I was a big rail fan since I was three. My interest has faded but I still care greatly for the Anthracite Lines of eastern PA.

I'm a third generation rail roader as I was a Track Laborer for the Union Railroad back in 1980 through 82. It was only three years but they were probably the best years of my early life. I love all things rail road... Steam era as well as the modern era.
