Yes I've owned one since I was a kid, I had a cheap one from Radio Shack, now I've got a Garret with 3 different coils for doing anything from searching for coins in trashy areas to deep detecting. I like going to places around here that I've put in the hours to research. For the most part people are lazy, blow the money on equipment but go to the same beach or school that everyone else has then get bored and in the closet it goes.
