If you were limited to one rifle and one handgun....
Which ones would you choose? My gunshop owner buddy and I were talking about this and we both decided that we would probably be found dead in front of our gunsafes still trying to make the choices. Lol, I figger I'd HAVE to keep my 1911, and probably my Marlin 1894 .45 Colt but that ol' 700 06 is a good rifle, and theres my M1A hmm I sure do like that lil' .22 Bolt gun and my Walter P22 is a FINE pistol.... . Yea I'd die in front of my safe...........

I would keep my Ruger .44 mag Redhawk and Winchester 94 in .44 mag.
I would then sleep next to the safe in the garage guarding the rest.
Hard to leave behind my HK M3 or the Marlin guide gun 45/70.

As a true Cooperite, I would have to go with a .308 Steyr Scout and a 1911 .45ACP.
Or to rephrase the question, if you were going to go on an extened trek and wanted to keep weight down by going with one rifle and one handgun...these are what I would pick.
Have several 1911s, unfortunately have not prioritized sufficiently to buy the Scout.
Although gun guys revel in a safe full of different guns, I know I do, really if you add a 12-gauge pump and some sort of .22 rifle, and if you want to indulge yourself a .22 pistol or revolver, at that point I'm not certain what North American shooting task, from hunting to Armageddon, you couldn't do with these.
Come to think of it, the Scout/1911 would be a fine set of weapons for any kind of elite troops, particularly ones who travel light and wander far from base. I wonder if any of them are doing this. You could do worse.

Glock 19 and Mini 14 (or Mini 30 if I expect to have to knock something big down).

Untill I get a long rifle, I will have to settle with my Glock M30 and my 12 ga shotgun. What I want to do is add the Glock M21 along with the long rifle...or the ar15...
