Love to fish, use to trek up in the Smokey Mts for trout untill sightings of big cats started to be reported, Bears and wild hogs I don't mind but big cats are another story. Large and small mouth bass fishing is still good in eastern Ky and East Tenn. Stripper fishing is also a favorite of mine in spring.

I always swore I HATED fish, but I am really liking Tilapia, it might even be healthy. Of course I am talking buying it and cooking it.....not actually catching it. That might open up a whole new can of "worms"....

Far be it for me to bust your bubble... but the Talpia that I have caught in my net are one nasty slimy fish. After seeing them live and in the wild I will never ever get close to a cooked one again. They have great big scales on 'em, like a carp... and they really are very slimy. Do not get me wrong, I love shrimp and they are basically the cockroach of the sea... but the Talapia has got to be one of those bottom of the food chain fishes. There is good fish out there... but in my opinion the Talapia is not one of 'em.

That's a bummer! The only type of tilapia I have ever seen has been frozen. I bought some perch the other day, gonna try preparing that some night to see how that goes.
really no different then eating game: venison sausage is quite tasty, but you gotta keep that image of "bambi" out of your head!
when carp were mentioned; I used to be in bowfishing tourneys and we'd have people come to the weigh-ins to grab all the carp they could take. You wanna talk slimy/messy, have barrels full of fish on a hot day.
But they didn't care, they'd go and smoke the things anyways
