I'm a bit of a beginner. I used to fish as a kid with my dad, but that was almost 30 years ago. I started again at the end of the summer this year. I use a spincast combo and probably look like a little kid when I cast. Regardless, I LOVE IT! I can't get enough. I've been fishing three times a week since the middle of October. So far, I've only caught a few crappie.

Right now I'm using a Shakespeare Ladyfish medium rod with 10 lb. test line with snelled hooks. Any pointers on upgrading my gear to have better success? I'm going on a bass fishing trip to Michigan in April and would like to be all set when I go. I have a feeling that what I'm using won't cut it with the largemouth.
