Mr Floyd,
The NC coast is blessed with a year round fishery. But not all fish are available year round.
When ya' coming down? What type of fish do you like to catch?
Bill

Yeah. You get the Gulf Stream and all that brings...
If I come to HB this year, it will be mid August. A few things have to fall into place for that to happen. Anyway, that is the general time frame. I am open to all kinds. Have caught Dorado in Cabo. That was fun. Some big tuna in Maui. Also good. Have yet to do the Marlin thing...What's your bag?

Cool.....a Thread about fishing!! We done a lot of fishing in Colorado, Chatfield Reservior (south of Denver). Yep, for three summers we had our 18' Invader Bowrider out on the water almost every Saturday/Sunday going after those Rainbows in the No Wake area. Even caught one Brown that was 18"! Shoot, I'd be up and have the boat hooked up and gear in the Durango while my wife was still sleeping. Got her up, coffee/hot chocolate made, snacks ready to go and we were on the water at 8AM w/three lines in.
NOW we live in Jacksonville and can't wait to do some saltwater fishing! In fact, that is what my wife wanted/got for her birthday last month.....a new saltwater rod/reel (so did I). I've done some saltwater fishing, but she hasn't. Boy will she be in for a BIG surprise if she hooks into a nice Flounder, Seabass, Sheephead or whatever. It sure isn't like fishin' for no Rainbows! And now we have been looking for a new boat (sold the Invader in Colorado). Looks like we are going to get a nice 24' Cabin Cruiser and hit the St. Johns River, Intracoastal waters and even the old Atlantic waters.
Do we love to fish......"H" yes!!

I've done alot of saltwater fishing living in FL most of my life. I've caught redfish, snook, silver and speckled trout, whiting, black grouper, mangrove snapper, red snapper, ladyfish, saltwater cat, jacks, sheephead, and a couple small sand sharks. When it's real hot in summertime I'll wade out into a channel chest deep and kill a couple hours.

Night fishing is great for catfish too! I live about 15 miles from the largest man made lake east of the Mississippi River. Problem with that is I'm a bank fisherman. When you have a 160,000 acre lake and a 58,000 acre lake connected by a canal (Kentucky and Barkley Lakes) There aint a whole lotta fish near the banks looking for my lure or nightcrawler! lol Big crappie tournament coming up there in a week or two!

I've fished Kentucky lake before. We did quite well on walleyes and crappies down there. That was a good time.
Good luck in the crappie tourney.
I'm gonna be hitting the hardwater here next weekend.

When you have a 30 foot sailboat and you are fishin for women, the boat is the bait.
It aint the shape of the ship, it's the motion of the ocean !
