I'm starting to see things in stock again. Primers we hard for awhile but I went out a week ago & found them first try. I think alot might have been panic buying & now stocks are catching up with demand.
That said I'm stockpiling powder & primers I use whenever I see a good buy. Brass I have plenty in most calibres & bullets I can make if it comes to that.
our local range opens next weekend & I'll be there with the kids doing what we love.

I saw obamma coming and stocked up, I reload.
I sure don't shoot as much as I used to though.

Well I found my 7.62 x 39 and now I finally found 9mm about 30 minutes away. Suprisingly though all the stores still have plenty of shotgun shells and some even still have 22s. I might have to pick up a few boxs of 12 guage next time I'm out just in case.

My dad was just commenting the other day on the high prices for shotgun shells. Definitely a lot of hording going on and good old supply/demand pushing up prices.
Reminds me of gas prices last year.
Definitely are some real concerns driving gun and ammo purchases but there is also a certain amount of fanning the flames of fear, usually by those selling fire extinguishers.

Like many of you, I'm going to start reloading. Waiting on those primers to arrive.

Well Walmart in spearfish is still out of .22 rounds except the overpriced boxes of 40 or 50 rounds, almost out of 12 gauge shells too when I was there last.

My guns are exceptionally clean and in perfect working order. The countless .45 ACP FMJ ball has been replaced with a few boxes of +P HST's. In other words, I'm not shooting much.
I acquired about 700 rounds of WWII surplus de-collated .30-06 just in case there is a fan-feces interface. The only problem is that I have no idea which ones are tracer and I had 2 bad primers out of the first 20 rounds fired. Also, does anyone know of an easy way to remove cosmoline?
I'm set for the shotgun as long as I only shoot at birds or intruders and don't make a habit of shooting at clays.

There are a few ways. I haven't tried any of them yet, but I have an SKS that needs the de-cosmoline treatment.
Off the top of my head, heat (oven, blow dryer) will melt it, solvent/cleaner (brake cleaner, I think) will dissolve it.
Check here.

Affordable 7.62x39 has been my issue. I have a bunch but I'm not shooting up any of it until I can replace it. It's starting to pop up again here and there though. For the cosmoline issue, I use Gunk foamy engine bright. Spraty on spray off dry and punch the bore with Hoppes then oil er' up right. The wood I've used Murphy's oil soap on to good effect. Some SKS"s come covered in that blasted goop
