We have two places around here that are well stocked while the others are just about out. I have stocked up and the only rounds I have to rebuy on a regular basis are the 22LR and the 410 shells, everything else I dont use that much so I dont waste it.

So is the ammo-panic calming down yet?
I still think most of it boiled down to fear and hording.
Also, with the weak dollar it made metals more expensive so that's part of it too.
In a year when suppliers have caught up and no scary anti-ammo legislation has been passed I would think prices will be back down.

I've been doing most of my shooting on the Xbox lately. I miss the smell of buring powder in the morning.

Reloaders, like myself are also having a tough time finding components.

Local Bi-Mart and Wal-Mart now have some .22 rimfire, but so far no primers available locally. Primers for reloading and powders usable for .223, .308, etc. are scarce.

Unfortunately, I'm just holding onto the ammo I have until the prices become more reasonable (if they ever do).

Around here ammo is not really a problem, at least for what I need. There are still limited quanities you can purchase. For example, I was in a local gun store the other day and picked up 3 boxes of 45 acp and 5 boxes of 9mm. That was the stores limit on that ammo. Still need to pick up some .22 cal but for now I have plenty.

I do a lot of shooting. I try to keep at least three years of ammo on hand all the time. That is three years of ammo that I normally shoot during a year.
The amount varies by caliber, for instance; 90 per cent or more of my shooting each year is plinking with .22 handguns or rifles. I typically go through20 to 30 thousand rounds a year. So I may have as much as ten cases (50,000 rounds) on hand at any given time. As good as money when the SHTF. I have cut way back on my shooting until the prices stabilize.
My big pistols and high power rifles I may only shoot twice a year or so to keep them zeroed in. Probably 500 rounds on hand for each of them.
I don't own a shotgun.
