Pool Cue
Hi guys...I am trying to buy my boyfriend a new pool stick for his birthday. I know nothing about pool at all, except he plays in APA. Other than that I know nothing. I'm trying to spend between $150 and $300. Does anyone have any recommendations on any good sticks? Thanks so much!

check out websites like the apa site. there has to be website that rate pool cues or tell you the best style to get. If not then if you know his favorite store to get supplies for the game see if they have a gift certificate. Ask his playing buddies if he has had his eye on a cue stick.

I can give you three or four manufacturers, but there's probably more...
Mali (spelling?), Meucci, McDermott...and there's Valley.

Assuming since you want to spend this much on a cue, that your boyfriend is a serious player. Then you should understand that Pool cues are a personal preference. There is a feel, flexibility, weight, and preferences in wrapped or wood grip.
For the serious player, a gift certificate might be more appreciated than a cue that just is not a good fit for his style of play.

Agreed. I would not like my wife to buy me a cue. I would love gift certificate though. These guys are really good Billiard Supplies - Pool Cues - Pool Sticks - Billiards Cues - Cue Sticks - Pool Cue Can't beat there sale prices. Great service.
I prefer Predator Cues Predator Shaft 314 2nd Generation Shafts - Predator Cues I already had an extra butt so I just added their shaft (the important part). It did improve my shot.

I like Poison pool cues
Check out the Poison pool cues, they are made by Predator and a little bit cheaper. I had a great experience with BilliardBuyer.com just shop the pool cues section and look for for Poison. I got the white one, its sweet. Doesn't hit exactly like a Predator, but imo its a GREAT cue!!!
Good luck in your search!
