Not much you can fix, unless you replace with the original replacement part.

Unlike balsa and/or foam rc airplanes, you can fix and fix and fix and fix ......
Oh well .......
Of course you can, you can build an entire heli by buying them in parts, plus there are upgrades galore for the popular models, I replace the skids and plastic swashplate on my King II with aluminum parts, added better rotor blades, replaced the gyro with a heading hold unit, replaced the stock motor and speed control with a brushless setup, I think you'd be quite surprised.

Just one word of caution -- DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ORDER ANY RC PRODUCTS FROM HOBBYTRON.COM.

They are thieves.

They have a looooooooooooooooooooooong record of shipping defective merchandise, then not taking it back, claiming it's "used" because you opened the packaging (as if there were any other way to determine whether or not the product even operates). And they'll lie to your credit card company if you try to cancel the payment that way (and yes, we cancelled the card that wouldn't back us up with these known con artists, too). They also have the gall to charge you the return shipping fee to send them back their defective merchandise! And that's if you can ever, ever, ever get them to reply to your emails or phone calls over the course of months of calling and writing. They're SCAM ARTISTS.

Look through some of those links. The fact that they're still in business is stunning. The number of Attorney General, law enforcement and BBB complaints with no action taken against them is maddening.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH HOBBYTRON!
