Join up at AR15.com and watch the Armory section for posted deals. You have to be quick though, Palmetto State Armory was selling .223 for $350/thousand and sold about half a million rounds in three hours.
I picked up some good deals at Sportsman's Guide recently. My limit is 36 cents a round. Even though my local Wal-Mart finally has .223 in stock, I passed up some this weekend to get 1,100 rounds of .22LR.

Don't know why I didn't do it before, but I is an AR 15.com guy now . I should be able to find out anything I need to about my EBR on there. My son has a DPMS LR.308 as well, so he can cast about to. LMAO, he looks with disdain upon my AR in the same way my Father would have . I KNEW I shouldn't have let him read so much Jeff Cooper. Oh , we have fun though. My last Bushy would not shoot Wolf ammo. This one does. One of the first questions I shall ask about.

Looks like some very good deals can be found on plinker grade AR's as well. Check out CMMG Inc and Aim Surplus. Almost unbelievable.

Turners is really pushing AR's in .22 lately. You can get a CAR15 in .22 for $599. Tempting, but I still enjoy .223

My local shop, which is generally pretty expensive(still I like to shop there), now has ARs for under a grand. I just got my first lower and am looking forward to the build. it should compliment my AK nicely.

THe local gun dealers here in S Florida sells the Bushmaster for every price from $850 to $1700. Of course I like to order from a guy who orders his weapons from a wholesaler who guarantees all the weapons that are sold from the company for the life of the weapon. WOW....Got a problem and we send it back to the wholsaler and they anothe new one. No questions asked. This usually costs the dealer 5-10 more er weapon but I love the idea of having the weapon fully guaranteed forever.
I have ordered Bushmaster .223 for $850 excluding the scope. I am going to put on a scope for around $300. It comes with a hard case and two 30 round magazines..I changed the mag size to two 20 mags.. Total is around $1025. There are several of us Vietnam Vets that shoot at the range and we are safety consious and watch each other as we take turns shooting the handgun and long rifles....No 50 cal's here because it reminds us of the Nam all over again and the bullets are out of our range expensive.
We do have lots of fun and hope other have fun too.

I was thinking about swapping this new A2 to my buddy I sold my M4 to for the latter back, but, after taking the A2 out to the range last weekend I' hanging on to it. I hit a line of ten bowling pins, hanging from chain, and drilled every pin consecutively. twice in a row, at 200 yards, then I let er' cool for about 15 min, and fired a five shot string at 100 yards at a 3 inch bull, 5 shots in under 2 inches. I'll keep this rifle . The M4 would not even come close to this. It was fine, a good rifle, but not this accurate. For a stock milspec A2, I was impressed.
