Apparently, San Jose wasn't all that confident about Nittymaki being their #1 goalie, so they go out and sign Niemi from Chicago; I suspect that Niemi will get a few more starts than Nittymaki, but the situation is probably quite fluid..

Seems like that was an insanely short offseason, but I guess that happens when your squad wins Lord Stanleys Cup.

OWWWW! Rub it in our faces, why don't you?

Just remember, after the first 20 games into the season no one will remember who won the Cup last year except for the fans of the team who won. Darn, I almost forgot already!

Who else wants to make hockey a year-round sport? I've seen enough of balls being moved around now it's time for the real sport.

I felt the same way after 2006. This is the most excited I've been for a new NHL season since before 06-07.

Something I found yesterday via google, there is an Australian Hockey League. Don't know much about it but it looks like one can stream games online, it is played from April to August. Worth a mention I guess. Melbourne's team won the championship this year.

Too eager for the season to start. Pre-season's inching closer. Hopefully activity on this board increases though.

Anyone following prospect tournaments? Canes finish 3rd in Traverse City. Very excited about our prospects, esp. Jeff Skinner and Zac Dalpe.

20 days to go..............

Welcome to Carolina Patrick O'Sullivan, who is from Winston-Salem. Very excited about this signing. Just hope his dad doesn't interfere with him.
