I heard tonight that Simon Gagne waived his no-trade clause. Since the Flyers are just about out of cap space trading Gagne and his $5 million a year salary for possibly a starting goalie would be great. They still need to sign Asham, though.

I think the fact that the Flyers are exploring their options, including possibly moving Gagne, means they are looking for a solid number one goaltender. I still think the Flyers are aiming for Nabokov (or possibly Turco).

Canes took Jeff Skinner at #7 in the draft. A lot of people wanted Cam Fowler and were shocked when he was available but I'm happy w/ who we have.

It looks as though Evgeni Nabokov has played his last game in the NHL. Nabokov was and still is an elite world class goaltender in my opinion. This is a big loss for the league, but it was pretty apparent that he wasn't going to be getting a 6 year contract in the NHL.

Nabokov agrees to six-year deal in the KHL

Sharks sign Hjarlmarsson to an offer sheet ..... Chicago has a week to match

win/win for the sharks ... either they get the type of defensemen they desparately need or they put pressure on the hawks financial situation

Just read about it on San Jose Sharks Home.... this sounds like a really good move. Once again, Doug Wilson shows to me that he's one of the best GMs in the league!

well the blackhawks matched ... i'd rather have the player than further cap constraints in chicago ... but all in all a good move to make, probably for both teams

SJ still needs some help on D though

i hear ya... The Sabres are avoiding this by drafting kids from this continent and furthermore from this country to avoid problems like this

So I guess I'll be the first to mention here that Rod Brind'Amour retired on June 30th. Thanks for the memories Rod!
