30 is a fine #, but realistically, I would move 3 or 4 of them....
Florida, Islanders, Phoenix (and maybe Atlanta)...but at least 3 gone.
Replace with a 2nd team in Toronto, Houston and Portland.
I'd love to say Seattle, but there's no NHL ready arena.
Portland has a building that is almost NHL ready.

Move the Florida Panthers, Atlanta Thrashers, Phoenix Coyotes and Nashville Predators to Milwaukee, Portland (or Seattle if Seattle gets an appropriate stadium), Quebec City and Winnipeg. If the Islanders move due to stadium issues, move to Kansas City.

Keep Carolina and Tampa Bay where they are - they've won Stanley Cups.

Also, just in general: have the Blue Jackets and Lightning change their primary logos. Just awful, the both of them.

And Dallas needs to wear green as their primary color again

Why do you continually ignore the most important piece of a team existing - an owner.

There are several cities that actually have ownership groups attempting to obtain teams. These are the cities that will get an relocated teams, not random cities you name because you feel they are best suited. Businesses do not exist without an owner to establish them.

How do you know the current ownership groups of these teams, even PHX, the NHL, would not move to those towns and keep the team?

That's always a possibility but since that has not been mentioned, why make wild speculation?

If hockey isn't catching on in Nashville, Florida, Phoenix and Atlanta why do so many think Houston is a logical choice? Because of the population?

I just moved to Tempe, AZ. From what I gather the Coyotes ownership messed up putting the hockey arena in Glendale. Guess it's a pain in the rear for half of the peeps in the Phx area to get there.

there should'nt be more than 20 teams in the league, all north american sports leagues are way overexpanded. the quality of play on the field is horrible. too many minor leaguers with guaranteed spots. too little competition.

it's been that way for so long people have no idea how it'd be different.

Most of those cities already failed. Hamilton is too close to 4 other teams

Hamilton could support a franchise. The other cities failed but also failed in a market where the Canadian dollar was well below the American dollar. Times have changed.
