Facepalm. Where did this franchise go wrong? Do I need to explain, or do you already know?

Noticing the "Location" and the fact that Kansas City really wants a team...I am most certainly hopeful this doesn't end with, "Dang, they should just sell the Hurricanes and put them in a city that would really embrace hockey."

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that's the path I'm expecting that it'd take...but it wouldn't be the first time, and they usually start out just like this...with no explanation.

You mean after the Stanley Cup win? Well if you do, long story short, the rest of the NHL got wise to the Canes system and the new rules (Something Carolina took great advantage of the first year the new rules were in place).

I have to commend the Canes for taking Jeff Skinner in the summer draft. The kid looks like he may win ROY. Not to mention they've got a great crop of prospects here in Charlotte. The future looks pretty bright right now.

I'm still lost. So in the first year the CBA was signed, the Canes took advantage of a flaw in the CBA which elevated them to the Cup? All I can remember was some talk about their payroll being 28th in the league and that it was one of the lowest payrolls to win a Cup. But I've never heard of anything really facepalm worthy here in 2010.

In the early going, he's got Calder Trophy written all over him. As long as he holds up, and especially if the Canes make the playoffs...he may walk away with it. That "one man show" he put on a few nights ago against Colorado was sick.

Well hey, now they're on a 3 game winning streak. 2 straight come from behind wins against Florida and Atlanta.

So OP, are you ever gonna tell us what you were talking about?
