Default Will Saskatoon ever get an NHL team?

They should have one because Saskatoon has such a cool name. Everyone always wants another Canadian team. Let it be in Saskatoon.

It'll never happen. Saskatoon's only got about 220,000 people, which isn't even close to enough to support an NHL team. The next city of any significance is Regina (which is slightly smaller), and that's about a 2 1/2 hour drive.

Besides, if we're only going by cool names, then the team should go to Medicine Hat or Moose Jaw.

So because a city has "such a cool name", they should automatically get a team?

Hamilton or Winnipeg would be the next choices.

Yes, yes, ownership groups and the such, we've all heard it all before.

And in this case yes if Canada gets another team it should be in Saskatoon due to their cool as a cucumber name.

I really WISH Saskatoon could have a team.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders ((CFL) based in Regina) are probably the most well supported small market team (per capita) on EARTH.
The people of Saskatchewan are GREAT Sports Fans ! ! ! and deserve more teams,
People travel from ALL over Saskatchewan to support the Roughriders, and even outnumber fans at away games. (Saskatchewan is the size of Texas with a population of less than 1 million).
PLEASE NOTE: These fans make the drive on weekends usually during the day on snow free roads.
However, . . .
NHL games are usually at night, and during the long cold Saskatchewan winter (it hits MINUS 40), thus making it difficult for these dispersed loyal fans of Saskatchewan to get to these games.
and,
with large US teams with large populations and money to compete with, need I say again, . . . that Saskatchewan is the size ot Texas but with 20 times fewer people. (barely 1 million), so what kind of TV revenue would they get ??
They tried to move the St. Louis blues there a few years back, and they even sold hats that said, "Saskatoon has got the blues"
While not 100% feasible, . . . a Saskatoon NHL team would be so COOL ! ! ! !

Wow....I already have the name chosen: The Saskatoon Goons!
Actually, St. Louis almost moved there back in the early 80's, when the league was a backwater outfit, not like today.

Winnipeg has already lost a hockey team. Even in the strange world of hockey, would they go back to a place they've abandoned before?
